Dessie Marie Blackshear, age 80 of Tumbling Shoals, passed away June 23, 2013, at Southridge Village Nursing and Rehab Center in Heber Springs, Born in Cleburne County on April 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Duda (Higgs) Lackey.
Mrs. Blackshear was a restaurant owner and a member of Friendship Community Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Blackshear; children, Joey Blackshear and Phyllis Blackshear; sister, Bessie Kennedy; and granddaughter, Jamie Green.
Survivors include her daughter, Ella Jo Green; sister, Jessie Lee Reeves; grandson, Brian Green all of Tumbling Shoals; sister-in-law, Zelma Harris of Heber Springs; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, June 24, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Olmstead Chapel with Rev. Sam Wildman officiating. Interment will follow in Chastain Cemetery.
