Mrs. Hannah Sanford Clarke, widow of the late Charles Ezra Clarke, who for many years was one of the city's most prominent attorney's, died very suddenly early Thursday morning at the family home at 128 Sterling street. She was upward of 75 years of age.

Mrs. Clarke was born in Bristol, Conn. Her grandfather was Col. Elihu Sanford of New Haven, Conn. Her ancestors were among the colonists who came over on the Mayflower in 1620, and later descendants were among the original founders of the Society of the Cincinatti.

She is survived by two daughters, Misses Juliette and Florence Clarke, who reside at the family home in Sterling street.
