Morris Foster Abbott, Jr., 83, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 after a sudden illness. He was a proud Navy man, retiring as a Master Chief with 30 years of service. He graduated from Saint Edwards University with a bachelor's degree in business in 1984.

He was a loving husband of 57 years, fantastic father of six children, wonderful grandfather of 12, and great grandfather of 15. He will be truly missed and forever in our hearts.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty Jean Griggs Abbott, his mother, Hazel Dorothy Nichols Abbott, and his father, Morris Foster Abbott.

He leaves behind six children, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Gary G. Abbott and wife, Catherine Vanduzer Abbott, their children, Jessica Abbott, Gary Abbott and wife, Stephanie, and Rachel Abbott Rhodes and her husband, Richard, Cynthia M. Martinez and her daughter, Catherine Martinez, Dorothy L. Abbott, Michelle Cummings and husband, Michael D. Cummings, her children Shera Cummings Vargus and her husband, Charles, Shawn Cummings, and Vanessa Cummings. Michael F. Abbott and wife, Carol Rudd Abbott, their children, Robert Crowder and wife, Jennifer, Jessica Hejl, and Christy Faglie, Jesse T. Abbott and his children, Kimberly Abbott Botello and her husband, Jonathan, and Shelby Abbott. His great grandchildren are Declan, Sophia, and Sirianna Cazalas, Avery and Madison Abbott, Christian and Shannon Carrier, Cambryn and Brooklyn Vargas, Robert, Julia, and Michael Crowder, Camryn and Coddy Faglie, and Caleb Montiel. He also leaves behind his sister in law, Shirley Green and children, Billy McNeil, Rosemary McNeil, Davelene Brown, and Michael Shane McNeil along with many great nieces and nephews. Morris (Bud) will forever be missed! We are all proud to be a part of his heritage.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A funeral service will be conducted at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. A graveside service with US Navy Honors will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, Texas under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home.
