ANDERSON, Ind. — Jack Verle Colvill, 85, of Anderson, died Oct. 1, 2011, at Miller's Merry Manor in Chesterfield, following an extended illness.

He was born July 10, 1926, in Anderson, and lived in this area his entire life.

Jack served in the U.S. Navy, in the Pacific, during World War II.

He retired from Maco Beverage after 20 years of service.

Jack was a member of American Legion 408, V.F.W. Post 266, Teamsters Local 135 and Madison County Voiture 510 40 & 8.

Survivors include his sons, Robert E. Colvill (Pam) and Richard A. Colvill, all of Anderson; granddaughter, Misty Colvill; five great-grandchildren, Cory, Ashley, Travis, Zachary and Savannah; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is special friend, Ruth Buckley.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Letty (Badger) Colvill; half brother, Claude Colvill; sister, Mary Ruth Robinson; and grandson, Sgt. Robert Colvill Jr.

Visitation, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and will include 6 p.m. military rites conducted by the VFW Post 266 Honor Guard. Cremation will take place at a later date.
