He was born June 7, 1923, at Havana to Millard Fillmore and Molley Davis Tapp.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Johnnie Tapp; a son, Ronald Dean Tapp; two brothers; and one sister.
He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII and Korea.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Dana Tapp of Alma; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bill Tapp and Loyce and Betty Tapp, all of Havana; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joyce Adair of Havana, and Pat and Martin Feeney of Benton; three grandchildren, Stan Tapp, Kelsey Tapp and Bryant Vaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
The graveside service and burial will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Moore's Chapel Cemetery near Waveland under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. The Rev. Joe Loyce Tapp will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
