Aaron Heckman, pioneer farmer of Kosciusko county, died at his home 5 miles east of Sidney Wednesday January 15, 1919 following a years illness from complications. He was born in Jay county Indiana April 8, 1846 to Samuel and Mary Heckman. At the age of 6 years, the family came to Kosciusko county. In 1868 he married Miss Rachel Michael at Sidney. He had lived on the farm where he died over 47 years. He is survived by 4 children, Mrs. Roscoe Yeager and Mrs. Silvia Ramsey of South Whitley, Charles and Merle Heckman of Sidney, 2 brothers John of claypool and William of Hallworth, Montana. Three sisters Mrs. Sam Miller, Mrs. Peter Michael and Mrs. Frank Leslie of Sidney and Mrs. George Huffman of Pierceton, besides 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral will be held Friday at the Church of the Brethren in Sidney, of which he was a member, Rev. Ronk of Warsaw will officiate and interment will be in Spring Creek Cemetery.
