died at Newport, 1727, July 4, and was buried in his father's family lot.
_________________ He married first, Mary, daughter of John and Elizabeth Turner, of
"Tanton" (Taunton) 1770-71, March 9. She died 1690, December 16. Second, Sarah,
daughter of Thomas and Sarah (Sherman) Mumford. ____________________

III. Sion4, born 1674, September 12. Married 1700, February 7, Mary Ward of Thomas,
father of Richard Ward, Governor of Rhode Island 1740 to '43, and grandfather of Sam
Ward, Governor 1762-63, and 1765 to '67, who was a delegate to the Continental Congress.
Mary died 1754, June 1, aged 75 years. Sion died 1753, August 6, aged 79 years.
