ARMBRISTER — Funeral services for Dr. Victor S Armbrister will be held at 3 p.m today at Memorial
Chapel at Emory and Henry College. Dr. Marvin S. Kincheloe, Dr. Ear! G. Hunt, the Rev. William C. Mason and the Rev. L. Keith Barlow, Jr. will
officiate. Pallbearers will be Darden Towe, William Troy, David Anderson, Bruce High, William Cushman, Jack Thomas, Richard Kemper, Jr , and
Ronald Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be present and former faculty members, the board of trustees, and the board of visitors. The body was
returned to the residence on the campus of Emory and Henry College Sunday afternoon from Henderson Funeral Chapel. The body will be taken to Memorial Chapel at 10:30 a.m. today.

A special memorial was held for students and faculty at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Chapel

He graduated from Emory & Henry College in 1928 and joined the English faculty here in 1930 after he completed his M.A. at Vanderbilt. He completed his Ph.D. at Vanderbilt in 1938. He was on the EHC faculty until his untimely death on 6 October 1962. When he died he was also serving as dean of the college. He also held the Henry Carter Stuart Chair in English.
