Olalla resident, Dale R. Anderson, 77, died Jan. 24, in Gig Harbor. He was born July 1, 1924, to George and Laverne (Duvall) Anderson in Olalla. He married Dorothy Burkhardt on Nov. 15, 1963, in Bremerton. She survives him in Olalla. Mr. Anderson graduated from South Kitsap High School. He was a commercial fisherman for more than 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Deep Sea Halibut Union and King of Glory Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking, operating heavy machinery and sports. In addition to his wife, Mr. Anderson is survived by three sons, Gale Westfall of Olalla, Curt Anderson of Mission-Viejo, Calif., and Steven Anderson of Broomfield, Colo.; a brother Don Anderson of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister, Jeanette Mazzone of Henderson, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dean, Doug and Dwight Anderson.
