Gianna Rose Eliason of Warrington, PA passed away due to complications from a liver transplant surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was the beloved daughter of Frank and Carolyn Meier Eliason IV.

Gia, as she was fondly called, touched many lives over her short life. She was named for Saint Gianna Berretta Molla, due to the similarity between Saint Gianna’s pregnancy and the pregnancy that brought Gia into the world. Gia was born ten weeks premature and with Cystic Fibrosis, causing her to spend the first months of her life in intensive care. Once out of the hospital, she continued her fight with Cystic Fibrosis. In November 2003, Gia was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma, childhood cancer of the liver. Yet, even with these health issues, Gia lived life to the fullest, inspiring the best in everyone with her strength and courage.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her maternal grandparents Dale and Jane Meier, of Yardley and her paternal grandparents Frank and Joan Eliason III, of Southampton, PA, her great grandparents, Patricia Meier of St. Louis, MO, Frank and Marguerite Eliason of Philadelphia and Doris Bird of Philadelphia. She is also survived by her Uncle Don Meier, Aunt Catherine Meier, Aunt Geri Lynn Hanssens and Uncle Michael Hanssens and her cousins.

A Mass was celebrated at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 1325 Upper State Rd, North Wales, PA.
