According to his monument he was born between the years of 1790 and1800.

Children as listed on the monument which is a cenotaph for David G. Brown and Nancy Brittain are:

1) Mary Ann Brown (1826-1848) who married: John Anderson.
2) William Jackson Brown (1829-1909) who married: Nancy Ann Raney then Margaret Taylor.
3) Sarah J. Saray Brown (1831-1911) who married: Thomas A Anderson.
4) Martin Van Buren Brown (1836-1884) who married: Menhalat Powers then Diannah Williams.
5) Nancy H Brown (1838-1861) who married William T Cooper.
6) Rebecca Brown (1842-1880) who married William P Harned

David G & Nancy Brittain Brown along with other early pioneers are buried in Buchta Farm Cemetery as reported by Dubois County Genealogical Society publication. Located 3/4 mile west of Hayesville. Site has been under cultivation for over 100 years. Monument erected by descendants 2003.
