Armeda Loos, daughter of Absolem and Emaline Lewis Loos, was born October 13, 1870 in the Absolem Loos home on the Richland and Lawrence County Line one mile east and one-fourth mile south of Prairie Hall. Here she grew to womanhood.
She passed away December 3, 1950 at 6:25 A.M. From this world of sickness and pain, she has entered the mansion prepared for her in heaven where sickness and death are no more.
She was married to Jacob Gerber on September 20, 1899 to walk side by side for over 31 years. To this union was born three children the two oldest dying in infancy.
One daughter June, with the husband, is left to mourn her going and miss her tender and loving care. She never tired of doing the things that made them happy, always thinking of their welfare.
Meda was a woman of Godly character. She answered the call to become a christian in early life, and joined the Christian Church at Prairie Hall where she has always been a faithful member. She was a friend to everyone, helping in anyway where help was needed.
She has been in poor health for several years and the last five months has been near death's door many times. She "was thoughtful" and told her daughter June, the arrangements for her funeral in every detail. She often expressed her readiness to go to that heavenly home from which none ever return.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Absolem and Emaline Loos, three brothers, George, William and Charlie, and one sister Hattie, and her baby boy and girl.
Meda is the last member of the Loos family and will be sadly missed, for she had spent her entire life in the same neighborhood.
Besides her husband and daughter, four nieces and three nephews and many relatives and friends are left to mourn her passing.
