MRS RONELLO DAVIS SUMMONED BY DEATH

It is with a feeling of sincere regret that we are called upon this week to chronicle the passing of Mrs Ronello Davis, prominent Twin Butte lady, whose death occurred at the Good Samaritan hospital in Ambrose on Tuesday, September 13th. Death was due to a cancer.
Mrs Davis was first taken ill more than a year ago, and a visit to the Northwest Clinic at Minot, revealed her condition as serious. She submitted to an operation and everything known to medical science was done for her, but the disease had made too much headway and she passed away at the time and place above stated.
Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, at 2:00 pm from the First Lutheran church at Ambrose with O G Akre, local pastor, officiating. The remains will be laid to rest in the cemetery near that city. C A Jacobsen, funeral director, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
Edith Lahlum was born near Valley City, N D, on th e 8th day of May, 1894, and at the time of her death had reached the age of 44 years, 4 months and 5 days. She spent her girlhood in that vicinity, and in 1914, came to Divide county, where she has since made her home.
On the 10th day of November, 1917, she was united in marriage to Ronello Davis, the ceremony taking place at Minot. This union was blessed with five children, who with the sorrowing husband survive. The children are Florence, Lorna, Melzar, Lucille and Richard, all of whom reside at home.
Other survivors are her aged mother, Mrs Bertha Lahlum of Long Beach, Calif, S I Lahlum of Valley City, Albert Lahlum of Colgan, Mrs S M Swanson of Polson, Mont, Mrs A G Anderson of Fortuna and Mrs C O Christianson of Crosby.
Mrs Davis was a woman of fine character who was reared int eh Lutheran faith, being baptized and confirmed in the First Lutheran church at Valley City. She always took a leading part in the affairs of the community in which she lived and at the time of her death was treasurer of Twin Butte school district and secretary-treasurer of the Twin Butte Homemakers club.
Her early passing from this life is regretted by a large circle of friends who join with The Journal in extending sincerest sympathy to the grief-stricken husband, children, mother, sisters and brothers, who are left to mourn her untimely death.
