The cemetery is located on land that was given to Alexander by his father, Charles Turley. Because the cemetery already existed when Alexander Turley died in 1853, it seems reasonable that he would be buried here.

Alexander Turley constructed Turley Hall between 1821 and 1831 on land given to him by his father, Charles Turley. Alexander's son, Charles William Turley inherited the home and farm in the 1850s.

Numerous families owned the property throughout its lifetime. In the 1980s, Turley Hall was put up for rent. The house experienced much disrepair in the 1990s. Local historians attempted to save the structure, but the building was heavily vandalized and looted during many years when it was vacant. Turley Hall fell victim to arson and burned down on January 14, 1994. All that remains of the farm is a number of gravestones belonging to slaves

The house can be seen in the photos on the right. The 3rd photo shows where the house once stood.

Alexander married Susan Doanes (or Darnes) on December 8, 1812

Susan died about May 1854.

They had at least 2 children:
Charles William Turley born about 1814
Fanny Turley married Josiah Willcoxon

Served in the War of 1812
