Patsy A. Harper

Patsy Arlene Harper has left us to be with the Lord and Savior. Patsy passed away on June 24, 2013 into "God's loving arms."

Patsy was born to Josefina Lola Comaduran King and Robert J. King on February 5th 1931 in Los Angeles, California at the Rice Maternity Hospital.

Pat's father passed away one (1) month after her birth. Then along with her brother and sister they were raised by her wonderful and loving mother.

Pat lived most of her growing up years at Clifford St., Edendale area of Northeast Los Angeles attending schools in that area. She attended Allesandro Grammar School, Clifford St Grammar School, Thomas Starr King Junior High School and John Marshall High School, graduating in January 1950.

After graduating from school she went to work at the Pacific Tel and Tel Phone company as a Long Distance Operator. Then was promoted to a clerk in the same Department. Later on she became a clerk at the Yellow Pages. She left the yellow pages job to move back to Santa Maria with her husband after his discharge from the US Navy. There they raised 5 children.

Patsy is survived by the love of her life, her husband Gilbert of 62 years, her children Julia Harper, Gilbert W. Harper Jr., Joseph Harper, Christina (Harper) Gonzales (Edward), and Patrick Harper (Cyndi), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her Mother, Father, brothers Albert Comaduran, Robert J. King and Sisters Virginia (King) Walker, Lois King.

Pat was in involved for many years in the Blue Birds and Camp Fire Girls with her daughters Julia and Christina.

Patsy will be remembered as a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, she was a loving person and a great friend. Patsy was devoted to all her off springs, nephews, nieces, and cousins. They returned her devotion in full measure and mourn her passing, even as they celebrate the fact that God has welcomed her into his eternal embrace.

Rosary will be held on Monday July 1st, 2013, 7:00 pm at the Dudley- Hoffman Chapel. Mass will be held Tuesday July 2nd, 2013 at l0:00 am at St. John Neumann Church with burial to follow at the Santa Maria Cemetery, after which a reception will be held at the VFW on Battles Rd
