A funeral service for Kolton Wayne Culberson, 23, of Emory was held July 1 at Emory Baptist Church. Rev. David Diller officiated, assisted by Katrina Culberson.

Burial followed at Dougherty Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Whiffin, Justin Culberson, Daniel Culberson, Michael Culberson, Cora Cooper, Breanna Anglin, Stormye Diller and Nathan Diller. Honorary pallbearers were his theatre family.

Kolton was born in Dallas on November 1, 1989, to Warren Kerry and Karen Marie Squires Culberson of Emory. He died June 26, 2013 in Nacogdoches. He was a junior at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. His passion in life was theatre and he loved performing. He was engaged to Mary Helen Creath and was a member of Emory United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his parents of Emory; sister, Katrina Marie Culberson of Rockwall; fiancée of Nacogdoches; grandmothers, Betty Braziel Culberson of Emory and Margarette Lemieux of Leeds, Massachusetts; and numerous other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Larry J. Culberson "PaPa" in 2002 and Louis Squires in 1988.

Services were under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home, Emory.
