CASTLEWOOD, Va. Billie J. Powers, 83, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, Tenn. She was born in Toms Creek, Coeburn, Va., daughter of the late William and Myrtle Pope Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arel Powers; and one son, Michael Gibson. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in St. Paul, Va. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Arney and husband, Terry, of Castlewood, Va., and Tammy Evans and husband, Sput, of Coeburn, Va.; two sons, Barry Powers and wife, Hope, of Castlewood, Va., and Terry Powers of Castlewood, Va.; two stepdaughters, Lois Johnson of Defiance, Ohio, and Shirley Ann Mann of Melbourne, Fla.; one sister, Bernice Holland of Meridian, Miss.; one brother, Gene Gibson of Coeburn, Va.; one very special friend, John Huff; fourteen grandchildren, Teri Davis, Steven Arney, Amber Salzman, Autumn Arney, Ryan Evans, Jared Evans, Derek Evans, Loreen Evans, Hunter Powers, Brooke Shockley, Heather Powers, Gary Powers, Michael Powers, and Kathy Ann Mann; nine great -grandchildren, Ashley Brooks, Corey Davis, Brandon Davis, Colton Arney, Ty Arney, Madison Salzman, Emma Salzman, Jayden Evans, and Bella Evans; two great-great-grandchildren, Kylan Brooks and Kaidus Brooks; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Billie J. Powers will be conducted 8 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Va., with Pastor Richard Minton and the Rev. Mitch Elliott officiating. Committal Services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, in Chapel of Love Mausoleum, Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Va. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10 a.m. Saturday. Pallbearers will be Ryan Evans, Jared Evans, Derek Evans, Steven Arney, Corey Davis, and John Huff. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Va.
