Mrs. Frances Evelyne Albury, age 89, died Wednesday at Trinity Hospital in Augusta, GA. She was born and raised in Paris, France. During World War II, she met her future husband when her family opened their home to American servicemen, so that young men so far from home could enjoy a few hours of family life away from the horrors of war. In 1946 she married Frank Albury and they moved to the United States, and in 1988, they made their home in Statesboro, Georgia.

Mrs. Albury was a homemaker, and a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Statesboro.

Her memory will remain in the minds and hears of her husband, Frank Albury; her daughter, Deborah Albury; and her grandson, Joseph Albury, all of Statesboro; as well as warmly loved extended circle of adopted family and friends.
"A little piece of France lies forever buried on American soil."

A funeral mass for Mrs. Albury will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be Lucio Flores, Miguel Olmedo, Roberto Dajui and Victor Flores.
