Mr. Francis M. "Buddy" Adams, Sr, age 84 of 15820 S J Lawrence Road, Charlotte, NC, widower of Madlyn Alexander Adams, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008.

Mr. Adams was born in Union, SC, August 31, 1924, a son of the late Clyde Columbus Adams and Ruby Smith Adams. He was a retired truck driver for Concrete Supply of Charlotte and was a member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church. Mr. Adams was a member of the American Legion Post #180 in Charlotte and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II.

Surviving are a son, Francis M. Adams, Jr of Boca Raton, Fl; a daughter-in-law, Mindy Adams of Fort Pierce, FL; grandchildren: David Adams and wife Michelle of Boca Raton, FL, Michael Adams and wife Samantha of Rock Hill, SC, Kevin Adams of Greenville, NC, Alicia Adams of Asheville, NC and Missy Adams of West Palm Beach, Fl; several loving sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Joanne Adams of Lancaster, Aubry and Rosanell Adams, Carrol and Brenda Alexander and Thomas and Barbara Alexander all of Union, SC; a number of loving nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. Mr. Adams was predeceased by a son, Terry Wallace Adams.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will be held 1:30 PM Monday, November 24, 2008 at the Sunset Memory Gardens, Mint Hill, NC with Military Honors.

Visitation will be held 10:00-10:45 PM Saturday in the chapel prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Mid South Division, 1100 Ireland Way, Suite 300, Birmingham, AL 35205.

The family is at the home of Aubry and Rosanell Adams, 430 Kelly Rd., Union.
