During all his years none respected him more that his colleagues in the profession with whom he maintained the most friendly relationships not only professionally but socially as well. Always he was approachable and friendly toward old and young regardless of rank or station. He was particularly fond of children and many youngsters here will be missing his cheerful daily greetings. He was moreover, a man of keen intellect and thoroughly read books, newspapers, magazines and works of literature of scientific value. He could converse intelligently on a wide variety of subjects, but within his sympathetic disposition made converse with him a genuine pleasure even on subjects of common everyday interest.
