Ms. Birkmann was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Washington. She worked at Sporlan Valve in Washington from 1943 to 1985.
Ms. Birkmann is survived by a brother, Roy Birkman of New Haven; by a life companion, Orlando Mittendorf, Union; and by five nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Birkmann and a sister, Elda Stroetker.
Funeral services were held September 28 at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home in New Haven by Rev. William Schwab. Burial was in New Haven Cemetery.
