Junior Lee Hobson, 84, 0f Yadkinville, passed away peacefully at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson on July 4th. He was born April 29, 1929 to Vance Hobson and Nellie Wooten Hobson. Junior married Connie Holcomb of Boonville in Dec. 1949. He was a retired volunteer fireman with Fall Creek Fire Dept. He was retired tobacco and dairy farmer. He also worked through the years for Wiseman Oil Company, Reavis Oil, and American Oil and Gas. Junior was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, which he attended his whole life. Junior was known for his humor and jokes. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Clay Hobson, and half-brother, John Henry Hutchens. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Connie; his daughter Janice O'Quinn and husband Michael, of Richmond, Va; son Davy Hobson and wife Dian of Yadkinville; grandchildren Shawn Miller and wife Wendy, of Dillon, S.C.; Seth Hobson and wife Satoko, of Boone, N.C.: Justin Hobson and wife Sarah, of Yadkinville: Kelsi Hobson of Yadkinville; and Chris O'Quinn and wife Paige of Marietta, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Finn and Henry Miller, and Kaleigh and Avery O'Quinn: brothers Paul Hobson and Charlie Cline Hobson, both of Yadkinville; and sister Laura Louise Pardue of Rural Hall. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 6, at Gentry Funeral Home in Yadkinville from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be Sunday, July7, at 2:00 pm at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Gooden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
