Elizabeth P. Buescher, nee Patterson, 88, Washington, formerly of St. Louis, died Friday, August 23, 2002, at her home in Washington.
She was born May 12, 1914, at St. Louis, to Leslie Patterson and his wife Lavinia.
Mrs. Buescher graduated from Harris Teachers College in 1934 and then taught kindergarten and second grade in the
Normandy School District.
On October 9, 1937, she was united in marriage to Fred M. Buescher who preceded her in death on November 26,1985.
Together they owned and operated pharmacies in Ferguson and Washington until retirement in 1975.
Mrs. Buescher was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Washington.
She delivered Meals on Wheels for many years, in addition to volunteering at the Washington St. John's Mercy Hospital's gift shop for 16 years.
She was an active member of Chapter LV of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
Mrs. Buescher is survived by one daughter, Susan Anderson and husband Henry, Washington; one son, James Buescher
and wife Roberta,Manhattan Beach,California; two grandsons, Scott Anderson and wife Kimberly, Fenton, and James Anderson, St. Louis; two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Jack Anderson; other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service for Mrs. Buescher was held Monday, August 26,at St. Peter's United Church of Christ,Washington, with Rev. William Schwab officiating.
Interment was held in St. Peter's Cemetery, Washington.
The family was served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
Memorials to St. Peter's United Church of Christ are preferred.
