A funeral service was held recently at St. John's AME church for Samuel Artis Sr., 49, of 225 ½ Westover avenue.
The Rev. C. L. Smith officiated at the service. Burial was in Betty Jones cemetery with Morning Glory Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Artis, a native of Boykins, was an employee of Yoder's Dairy for four years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Artis; four daughters, Misses Mary and Floretta Artis and Mrs. Shirley Owens of Norfolk and Mrs. Ethel Turner of Key West FL; and five sons, Nathaniel, Joseph L., John E., William H., and Samuel Artis Jr. of Norfolk.
