Eldred C. Niemeyer, 89, Washington, died Monday, August 27, 2001, at Grandview Healthcare Center, Washington.
He was born May 26, 1912, at Treloar, the son of Fred Niemeyer and wife Emma, nee Kersten.
On December 29, 1935, he was united in marriage to Elvira Guese.
Mr. Niemeyer was past treasurer for the Meals on Wheels program and was active at the Washington Senior Center.
He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Washington.
Mr. Niemeyer was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elvira Niemeyer; one brother, Wesley Niemeyer; and two sisters, Elsie McClannahan and Lillie Knapheide.
He is survived by one son, Dale Niemeyer and wife Edith, Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; three daughters, Jeanette Trippe and husband Ardin, St. Charles, and Elaine Kruse and husband Essel and Brenda Brinker and husband Ron, all of Washington; one brother, Donald Niemeyer, St. Louis; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Fleming, Colorado; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 29, at St. Peter's UCC, Washington, with Rev. William Schwab officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
