Founder of Telegunken AG and physicist. He became the first full professor for electro-technology at the Technical University of Charlottenburg in 1886. Later was with Marconi and dealt with challenges of radio transmission and introduced improvments and refinements. His personal access to Emperor Wilhelm II enhanced the social reputation of engineers and technology. In 1903 he was a co-founder of the predecessor company, Gesellschaft fΓΌr drahtlose Telegrafen m. b. H. System Telefunken, that became Telefunken AG, the world renowned radio and television company. Retired from professional and public duties in 1912 for health reasons; died in Berlin.
