James "Jim" L. Kelly, 67, Washington, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2004, in Creve Coeur. Mr. Kelly, son of John Kelly and wife Edna, nee Fleshman, was born April 1, 1937, in St. Louis. He received his education at the St. Louis public schools. He was united in marriage to Joyce Kampschroeder Aug. 19, 1967. Mr. Kelly was a member of St. Francis Borgia Parish. He was a member of the Army National Guard. Mr. Kelly was employed as a metal shearer at Orna-Metal Manufacturing in Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John (in infancy); and one sister, Helen Jarvis. Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife, Joyce Kelly, Washington; three daughters, Patricia Brinker and husband Jeff, Washington, Laura Tobben and husband Matt, East Peoria, Ill., and Margaret Kelly and special friend Doug Aholt, both of Washington; one brother, John Kelly, New Florence; three sisters, Dorothy Bonham and husband Vic, Jonesburg, Vera Roethler, Warrenton, and Ethel Simone, Jonesburg; four grandchildren, Marcus Brinker, Samantha Brinker, Joel Tobben and Leah Tobben; three brothers-in-law, Ed Kampschroeder and wife Betty, Wilmington, N.C., Bob Kampschroeder and wife Mary, Washington, and Mike Kampschroeder and wife Marilyn, Maryland Heights; one sister-in-law, Delores "Dee" Shirley, Washington; his mother-in-law, Ida Mae Kampschroeder, Washington; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 9, at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington, with the Rev. Mike Boehm officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials to St. Francis Borgia Church Renovation Fund or the Franklin County Heart Association are preferred.
