Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Methodist Church with the Rev. C. B. Smith and the Rev. M. K. Harwell officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery with Higgins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dale had been in failing health for some time, but his death was unexpected.
Mr. Dale was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County, a son of the late James and Mary Marshall Dale. He was in the hardware business for 30 years here. In 1032, he became associated with the Warren Paint Company as a salesman, retiring in 1948.
Mr. Dales was a member of the First Methodist Church, where he had sung in the choir for 50 years. He was a member of the official board.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lillie Collins Dale; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Allison, Nashville, Tennessee, Mrs. J. W. C. McKay of Collins Park, Georgia, and Mrs. James W. Moore of Fayetteville; one son, J. Robert Dale of Chattanooga, Tennessee; three brothers, Roy Dale of Pulaski, Tennessee, Tom Dale and Dave Dale, both of Frankewing, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
