Aaron Don Grooms
Aaron had a way of doing things, he was so smart and such a smooth talker. He could always talk me into giving my blessing in anything he wanted to do.
I remember when he was a senior in high school. Without my knowledge, he got his motorcycle license and had selected a red Kawasaki Ninja. He knew I would not approve of him riding a motorcycle much less racing it. Well next thing I know, I'm teaching him how to negotiate. He bought the bike for a reasonable price, and it became his 1st big purchase. It was his happiest day and mine as well.
I will never forget when he rode his motorcycle home from a band function in his tuxedo. Even today, I still recall telling him that he looked just like James Bond.
He attended West Texas A&M University and made all A's. He earned the "2010 Fall Semester President's Honor Roll @ West Texas A&M University" certificate. While he was in West Texas he sold his bike and purchased another Kawasaki Ninja with a bigger engine to go faster.
He moved back to Denton and attended North Central Texas College and kept up with his 4.0 GPA. He earned the "2011 Fall Semester President's Honor List @ North Central Texas College "certificate". He sold his bike again and arranged the one hundred dollar bills in a circle on the dining room table with such a big smile. He bought his last motorcycle – a Honda CBR; he was incredibly active racing with it and truly enjoyed it.
He got his official racing certificate from the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA). He truly was at his happiest on race days.
He transferred to UNT in spring of 2013 and moved to an apartment close to campus.
Aaron was free spirited and took all of his sports seriously. He loved racing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and boating among other casual sports such as skydiving, diving and surfing.
He was at the house on Sunday swimming with his brother James, James' fiancée Amber, friend Lauren and her one year old baby, Braun. He had so much fun hanging around the swimming pool, playing with little Braun and taking pictures. His grandparents made us dinner. We had salmon with rice and salad. After everyone left, Aaron and I talked for a good while, as usual he talked me into going to his race and I promised I would. I loved and enjoyed our talks. He spent his last day at home with family and friends. He had so much fun that day. I'm so lucky to have had the time with him.
My love Aaron, you were so looking forward to your race day on Sunday, July 7th. You worked so diligently on your motorcycle to get it ready for the race. I came home to see you applying your race number decals on the bike with such precision. We had a plan to be at your race to cheer you on. My baby you didn't get to keep your appointment. I love you so much that it hurts. I'll see you again my love, for now your dad is waiting for you, go to him.

You were the best brother anyone could ever ask for. Our time together was short, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Life will never be the same without you. You were supposed to be the best man at my wedding and that's the way it is going to stay. That spot has always been open to you and it will remain there for you. Life is going to be very different without your face to light up the world, but I plan to make it known to anyone and everyone how wonderful you truly were. Whatever you may be doing, I hope it is everything you've ever wanted. I am so proud to be your brother. I will be thinking of you always.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 10, 2013 in the chapel of Denton Bible Church, 2300 E. University Dr., Denton. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
