Janet Carlson obituary -- Lodi - Janet Carlson, age 49, died peacefully at her home on Monday, June 19, 2006, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born on Sept. 9, 1956, the daughter of the late Alfred and Shirley (Urban) Zimmerman. On Aug. 20, 1983, she married John Carlson. Janet enjoyed her work and many friends and family. Her greatest loves were her husband and her children. She enjoyed watching them grow with all the neighbor children who were always in the yard along with Bear. Janet worked at the Bridge Restaurant, Grabers, Walgreens Distribution Center, Bancroft Dairies and Mendota Mental Health Center. Janet was always in the mood for a cookout and sitting in the garage for a great chat. She is survived by her husband, children, her brothers and sisters, her mother-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law, and many wonderful nieces, nephews and special neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents; dear grandmother, Ollie Urban; father-in-law, Harold "Bud" Carlson; and special nephew, Jonathon Enockson. A celebration of Janet's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2006, at First Lutheran Church in Lodi, with the Rev. Michael Lee officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorials.
