Mrs. Sarah Holliday

Mrs. Sarah Holliday, an aged resident of the county, and a member of one of the old and prominent families, died at the residence of her son, George Holliday, in Plaingrove township, Wednesday evening, aged 84 years. Death was due to the infirmities of advanced age. The deceased was born in Plaingrove township and lived in that neighborhood all her life. Her maiden name was Hamilton. She was related to Jesse Hamilton and others in this city. For 55 years she had been a member of the Plaingrove Presbyterian Church and was always very active in church work. She was a woman of many excellent qualities, and was highly esteemed by all who knew her. She was the widow of James Holliday, who died a number of years ago. The following children survive her: Mrs. George Pringle, William H. and George B. Holliday, all of Plaingrove township. She leaves also ten grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. John Glass, Butler; Mrs. Alec Green, Sharon; Mrs. Abraham Green, Franklin; Mrs. Thomas McKnight, Oakdale; Robert Hamilton, Kittanning, and George B. and David Hamilton, of Plaingrove township. Funeral services in Plaingrove Presbyterian Church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Plaingrove Cemetery.
