Tragedy struck twice in the same family Friday, when a father and daughter [Note: actually a step-daughter] died in Indianapolis. Mrs. Lars Ellis of Danville is a relative.

Mrs. Helen Erie Pence died of a heart attack at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Scott in Indianapolis. That same evening Mr. Scott was hit by a Greyhound bus as he was crossing the street near his home. He died before reaching the hospital. Mr. Scott was known around Lizton for over 24 years.

Survivors of Mr. Scott include the widow, Cora; a step-son, Ruben of Indianapolis; three brothers, Asa Scott, Lizton; Virgil and Orville of Indianapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Wilmer Pickell of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Arthur Brown, New Ross, and Mrs. Ellis.

Double funeral services were conducted Monday morning at Indianapolis. Burial was in Floral Park Cemetery.
