A funeral service for James Pierce Bowie, 87, of Stafford County, who died Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Mary Washington Hospital, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Wheeler & Thompson Funeral Service with the Rev. James Rodden officiating. Burial will be in Fletcher's Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery in King George.
Pallbearers will be Rudolph Bowie, Stanley Bowie, Earl Bowie, Alvin Gill, Edward Curtis and Allen Coates.
Friends my call at the residence.
Mr. Bowie, a King George native, had retired as a car salesman for the Burke Hudson agency in Fredericksburg. A licensed pilot, he flew a small airplane over a period of 25 years. He was a member of Fletcher's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Son of the late Edwin R. and Lillie Henderson Bowie, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mae Jones Bowie, and one daughter, Miss Colleen Bowie of Fredericksburg.
