Ezekiel was a son of Francis Charles Boggs and Agnes (last name unknown).

DAR Patriot Index-Centennial Edition 1990, part 1: Boggs: Ezekiel: b. c. 1734 IR d 6-7-1815, OH m. Jane Johnson PS VA PA.

"The Boggs Family" states: Ezekiel moved, about 1756, to Buffalo Creek, near Wheeling, Ohio County, Virginia. he signed the Oath of Allegiance on 5 Nov 1777 in Ohio County. He moved to Belmont County after 1806.

Settled on Buffalo Creek, north of Wheeling, Ohio County, Va. After his wife Jane died, he moved to Belmont County, Ohio which was just across the Ohio River. His will was probated 7 Jun 1815 in Belmont Co., Ohio.

Ezekiel BOGGS was granted a Virginia certificate for a tract of land called "Jealousy," embracing 143 acres "in the county of Ohio, on the waters of Buffalo Creek, to include his settlement made in the year 1774." This certificate was issued from Redstone Old Fort, 22 Nov. 1779, but the survey was not made until 2 Feb. 1786. The tract "Jealousy" was bounded by the lands of Robert TAYLOR, Charles McROBERTS, John GRAHAM, and William CARSON. Boyd Crumrine, HISTORY OF WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA (1882), p.674.

"Present John BOGGS and James GILLESPIE, Gentleman.
"Bargain & Sale from Robert TAYLOR to Ezekiel BOGGS acknowledged & O. R."
