Jerald Stebbins RAVENEL, SC - Jerald H. (Sonny) Stebbins, 77, of Ravenel, South Carolina, husband of Betty Blackwell Stebbins, entered into eternal rest Sunday, May 26, 2013. He was born in Putnam, Connecticut on February 26, 1936 to Harold Stebbins and Ruth Stebbins. He retired from the Navy after 20 years of service in 1974 in Charleston and made the Lowcountry his home until his death. After his military service, he was employed by and retired from Bayer in Bushy Park, where he was known lovingly as Sonny Stebbins. He has been married for 51 years. He loved to ride his motorcycle and spend time with his family. He was an avid supporter of the Association for the Blind. He is survived by his wife, Betty, his brother Richard Stebbins and his wife, Lana, of Sarasota, Florida, four sons, Johnny Taylor, James Stebbins and his wife, Patricia, G. Thomas Stebbins and his wife, Melissa, and Taylor Jones Stebbins, two daughters, Cynthia Caldwell and her husband, John, and Sara Black; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. His memorial service will be held on July 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ravenel located at 5987 Highway 165 (Hwy 17 & 165) Ravenel, SC.
