Mr. S.C. Herrin, who recently celebrated his golden wedding anniversary at Eubank, had a stroke of paralysis on March 27th, suffered another stroke, then lapsed into unconsciousness, and is very low.
DEATHS
HERRIN-Mr. S.C. Herrin, one of Pulaski County's most prominent and best known citizens, died Tuesday afternoon at his home at Eubank, following a stroke of paralysis which he suffered two weeks ago. Mr. Herrin had not been in good health for several years. His death removed the last member of his family, one that had been prominent in the business life of Pulaski and Rockcastle Counties for many years.
Mr. Herrin was born at Quail, Rockcastle County, May 9, 1857. At an early age he joined the Providence Christian Church and no man ever lived a more consecrated Christian life than this splendid citizen. There were seven members of the family, and his death removes the last of the number. Mr. Herrin was the son of Eliza Bethurum and Shadrick Herrin.
On January 19, 1882, Mr. Herrin was married to Miss Mary Albright, of Brodhead. Three children and five grandchildren survive, besides his life's companion. The children are Mrs. I.E. Payne and Mrs. Everett Estes, of Eubank, and Mr. Grover Herrin, of Welborn.
Mr. Herrin moved to Pulaski County and located at Welborn in the spring of 1904. He resided there until 1921 when he moved to Eubank to be near his two daughters. On January 19th, Mr. and Mrs. Herrin celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
The county has lost one of its most outstanding citizens, a man who was held in the highest esteem by everyone who knew him. Funeral service will be held at the Eubank Christian Church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial will take place in the Eubank cemetery.

Funeral services were conducted by D.R. Gentry of Quail at the Christian Church. The large crowd of people present was a testimonial of the high esteem and love which every one held for our friend and neighbor. We can honestly quote the beautiful lines of the poet:
"A precious one from us is gone
A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled."
