William B. Batey, age 91 died Wednesday, June 26, 2013. A son of Leon Harding Batey & Nancy "Nannie" (Johns) Batey, he was a native of Rutherford County. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie Lowe Batey, in 2012, and a son Gary Forrest Batey who died in 1951. Surviving at the time of his passing were nieces and nephews Becky Lowe Bowman, Delmer Lowe, Orlinda Lowe Gardner, Marsha Lowe Broyles, Diane Lowe Kelley, David Mason, Billy Mason, Frank Batey, Carolyn Batey Underhill, Sherrill Batey Becker. Mr. Batey was a member of Millersburg Baptist Church and a retired farmer. Graveside services were held Saturday, June 29th, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Mike Hoffman officiating.
