Carl was a Jacksonville native and a member of the Northside Church of God where funeral services will be held Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Judy Weeks officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Carl had worked for 35 years for Gilman Paper Company and then began a second career, where he was a driver for Greyhound Bus Lines for 10 years.
His surviving family includes: his beloved wife of 46 years, Ellen Belton; his mother, Betty Belton; his children, Pam (Wayne) Thornton and Wayne (Christina) Belton; a sister, Carol (Phillip) Horton; a brother, "Chuckie" Belton and his 7 grandchildren, Harley, Caleb, Lori, Hailey, Olivia, Wyatt, and Sammy.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 11 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Ave. from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
