Lois Butts, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008 at her home in El Dorado. Celebration of her life will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.

Lois was born Oct. 15, 1924 in Brewton, Ala., the daughter of Elie and Alice (Harvard) Fuqua. She grew up in Brewton, Ala., and attended school there. She was united in marriage to Ralph Butts on Oct. 24, 1942 in Brewton. They moved to El Dorado in 1950. Lois was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. She was a bowler, teachers' aide and loved to work with ceramics.

Survivors include: her husband, Ralph of the home; son, Ralph Jr. of El Dorado; two brothers, John Fuqua of Georgia and Gary Fuqua of Alabama; two sisters, Dorothy Paget and Christine Eiland, both of Alabama; two grandchildren, Dacia Ray of Seattle, Wash., and Cale Wilber of Bellingham, Wash.; and adopted granddaughter, Irma Rodriguez and her two children, Dallas and Marie, of El Dorado.
