David G. Holtzapple, 82, entered into eternal rest on Saturday morning, July 2, 2005, at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Louella "Mae" (Sanders) Holtzapple, with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage on March 29, 2005. Mr. Holtzapple was born on August 10, 1922, in York, the son of the late David J. and Grace (Hamme) Holtzapple. He retired from Dentsply. Mr. Holtzapple was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Dallastown Legion, and a life member of the West York VFW post. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a granddaughter, Carole Wilkins, wife of Justin of York; a sister, Bertha Stambaugh of Spring Grove; and nieces and nephews. Mr. Holtzapple was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon G. Carveth. Funeral Thursday at John W. Keffer Funeral Home & Crematory, York, Rev. Mitchell M. Galloway, pastor of Fourth United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. [York Daily Record]
