Clarence S. Ochs, 90, formerly of Reading, died at 1:25 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at ManorCare Health Services Kingston where he was a patient for 3-1/2 years. He was the husband of Mary P. (Bright) Ochs who died March 31, 1989. Born in Wernersville, he was the son of the late William S. and Catherine (Stuck) Ochs. Mr. Ochs was a graduate of Wernersville High School. He was an organ repairer for Ambrose L. Jackson Co., Inc. of Rancocas, NJ, formerly Fulton Organ Co. of Reading, for many years, retiring in 1980. He was a US Army veteran of WW II. He was a member of First Reformed Church of Wernersville. He was a life member of Mt. Pleasant Fire Company; Citizen's Hose Co. 1 of Wernersville; Liberty Fire Co. of Sinking Spring; and Wernersville Volunteer Firemans Assoc. He is survived by a stepdaughter, Shirley M. Showalter, a resident at Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Reading; a sister, Erma (Ochs) Miley of Hebron, MD; a stepsister, Emma Hayes of Overland Park, KS; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Ochs. Service Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at Bean Funeral Home, Shillington, Mr. Earl E. Wissinger officiating. Interment in Swamp Church Cemetery.
