William Aten, a life long resident of this town, died Sunday evening at his home at Groveland Corners at the age of 74 years. Death came on the anniversary of his birth, August 5, 1906, while he was sitting in his arm chair. This was the passing of a kind husband and father, and a good citizen. Mr. Aten was a Presbyterian of long standing. Wife, one son, Elmer Aten, and one daughter, Mrs. John Benway, all of Groveland. The funeral was held from the house at 2 o'clock Wednesday and from the Groveland corners Presbyterian church at 2:30. Rev. J. B. White of Groveland and Rev. W. H. Hallack of Rochester officiated. Burial in Glenwood cemetery.
