H. F. Steck
Funeral services for Harry Foster Steck, 79, of 128 East Girard avenue, will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, in the Joss mortuary, Englewood. Cremation will follow.
Mr. Steck, who died at this home Friday of a heart attach, was born April 3, 1868, in the first house built on Curtis street, where the Ernest & Cranmer building now stands. He was the son of Judge Amos Steck, Denver pioneer.
The late Judge Steck was a member of the territorial council from 1861 to 1863, and the president of Denver's first school board. He was one of the builders of the Platte water canal, which furnished water for irrigation of Denver. He was mayor of Denver from 1863 to 1865 and was elected county judge in 1868.
Mr. Steck is survived by a sister, Miss Isabella M. Steck of Denver; a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Steck Mundhenk; a son Harry F. Steck; a granddaughter, Mrs. Richard Roberts, and a great-grandson, Richard T. Roberts Jr., all of Los Angeles
