Edward Lewis Hemme, 80, a resident of Neodesha, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1993, at the Wilson County Hospital there.

He was born at Altoona, Sept. 15, 1913, a son of Lewis and Leona (Phelps) Hemme. He graduated from Elk city High School.

On Aug. 17, 1939, he married Marjorie Lamb at Yates Center. The couple had lived in Neodesha since 1941.

A farmer, he also was a pumper for the Standard Oil Refinery before his retirement in 1969.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are his wife Marjorie of the home; two sons, Keith W. Jemme of Merritt Island, Fla., and Donald E. Hemme of Redvale, Colo.; two daughters, Linda Conley and Nancy Manale, both of Kansas City; one brother, Charles Hemme of Altoona; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home in Neodesha. Rev. Jesse Myers will officiate. Burial will be in the Altoona Cemetery.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, Ray and an infant stillborn and two sisters, Margaurite and Florence.
