John Milton Cantrell was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Mulkey) born in Missouri. He married twice, first to Martha Ray who died in 1862. They had five children; William, Susan, Martha, Mary, and John. Found on the 1860 Census in California. He then married Susan J Crews the widow of Nathaniel Ward. They have one child who is mention on the 1880 census named Andrew Lee. John served in the Cayuse War. Sometime after the 1900 census the family was in Post where John passes away just eight days short of his 87th birthday.His daughter Mary's husband John Gibson is also buried here.
