Her mother was Mary F Varner Clemons (1877-1956). Her husband was William Henry Hanks who predeceased her in 1939.

Her newspaper obituary in the Arizona Daily Star 29 June 1976 says she was survived by her daughter Sylva Branstetter of Tucson; by brothers Wilbur Clements [sic] and Norman Clements [sic] of Missouri; also survived by sisters Golda Hurlburg [sic] and Lee Miller of Missouri.
