Florence Clinton Medford, 89, of Beaverton, died Monday February 5, 2007. A Celebration of Life Service was held in her honor at the First Baptist Church, Beaverton on Saturday February 10, 2007. Pastor Norm Langston officiated at the service.
Florence was born in Brinkley, AR on October 1, 1917 to George W. and Hassie Pearl Simpson Clinton. She was the fourth of nine children, and is survived by brothers George of Nashville, TN and Raymond of North Little Rock, AR, and sister Blanche Smart of Hot Springs, AR. She was pre-deceased by her parents, sisters Lillian Finch, Aline Hawkins and Julia Cooper, and brothers Boyce (Doc) and Wesley, who were killed in WW II.
She was married to John Levi Medford in Brinkley, AR on August 3, 1935. Because he was in war defense work during WWII, they lived in various east coast cities. They moved to Salem, OR in 1951, then to Beaverton in 1968. She worked in retail, most recently at Beaverton Pharmacy until a stroke forced her to retire in 1990. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Beaverton.
Surviving her are daughters Florence Rucker of Beaverton, Dorla McCoy of Portales, NM, Jonella Malinowski of Portland; son Reggie Medford of Beaverton; grandchildren Ann, Wes, and Stan McCoy, John Rucker, Brandon, Amanda and Ashley Medford, Aaron Malinowski and great-grandchildren Brittany, Levi, Kelsey, and Madison McCoy.
