Scott was the third of four children born to Vernon Wayne and Carol (Bibler) Bean. He married Donna Marie (Riley) in 1979 and together they had one daughter, Kristen. Scott disappeared January 16, 1985. His skull was discovered on October 11, 1986 in the North Cascade Mountains in Wash. From dental records the authorities were able to make a positive identity but the cause of death has never been determined.

Memorial services for Scott Wayne Bean, former East Side resident, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Covenant Church in Bellevue. He died of exposure in January 1985 in Whatcom County in the North Cascades.
A native of Billings, Montana, Mr. Bean was born October 13, 1958. He was a graduate of Sammamish High School in Bellevue. A resident of Everett until his death,he was the manager of Capitol Tire.
Mr. Bean's hobbies included camping and fishing. Family members recall his enjoyment of family get-togethers and especially how he loved to spend time with his little daughter, Kristen Marie.
In addition to his wife, Donna Riley Bean, and his 6-year old daughter, Kristen, both of Kent, survivors include his mother, Carol Bean of Bellevue; a brother, Randall Bean, also of Bellevue; his sister, Victoria Beckett of Enfield, Conn.; and his grandfather, Kenneth Bibler of Redmond. His father, Vernon Bean died in November, 1984, and another brother, Kenneth, died in March of 1983.
