"Mary R. Oleksa"
Mary R. Oleksa, 88, formerly of Stockton, died Monday at Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hazleton. Born in Beaver Brook, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Lesicko) Kruper. She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton, the Confraternity of Christian Women and the Altar and Rosary Society of the parish.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Paul, in 1970; brothers, John, Francis, Albert, Joseph, Edward and Bernard, and sisters, Anna Donahue, Helen Panco and Elizabeth "Betty" Bodnar. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Edward (Joan) Horowski, Lansford; a brother, Robert Kruper, Indiantown, Fla.; granddaughters, Joe Lynn Gazo, Lehighton, and Paula Horowski, at home; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Stanley E. Anilosky & Son Funeral Home, McAdoo, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's R.C. Church. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral of Mary Oleksa, formerly of Stockton, who died Monday at Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, was held Thursday from the Stanley E. Anilosky & Son Funeral Home, McAdoo. Monsignor Francis J. Beeda and the Rev. Thomas Derzak gave the blessing at the funeral home, concelebrated the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton, and the Rev. Derzak gave the final blessing in the chapel at Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Pallbearers were William Midlick, John Donahue, David Bodnar, Joseph Krupa, Joseph Libus and John Kotch.
