Nannette Marie (Gleason)Peterson, age 94 passed away on Friday, August 7, at Munson Medical Center. She was a resident of Traverse City, formerly of Baldwin and Port Huron.
The daughter of William A. and Emma (Swanson)Gleason, she was born on July 15, 1904 in Baldwin. On October 17, 1937 in Ludington, she married Morton M. Peterson who preceded her in death on March 14, 1997.
She was a graduate of Western Michigan University and taught in rural school of Lake County and was Lake County School Commissioner. She also taught in Port Huron Schools retiring from Kewahdin School in 1965.
In Traverse City, se was active in the Friendly Garden Club and Home Extension Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Dan) Chapman of Dexter, MI; grandchildren, Daniel K. (Carol Poulos)Chapman, and David (Ann)Chapman; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Amelia and Olivia; sisters, Romayne Radtke, and Alice Griberg; ten nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Morton M. (Pete) Peterson; two sisters, Wilma Kellum and Lenore Dobry; and one brother, William M. Gleason.
Graveside services were held at Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Baldwin on Monday, August 10th.
